Installing sensors including occupancy and vacancy sensors as well as daylight sensors is an easy and efficient way to ensure that you are only lighting spaces when needed:
- Occupancy sensors automatically turn on when someone enters the room and then off when no movement has been detected after a user-designated period of time.
- Vacancy sensors use a manual on switch which someone flips when entering the room and then is automatically turned off after the person leaves the room and there has not been movement detected after a certain period of time.
- Daylight sensors enable users to utilize daylight harvesting which takes advantage of naturally available light, dimming or turning off electric lights when enough natural daylight filters into a space. This helps to maintain the proper light level for a space so that it’s never too bright or too dark.
